Donation from Travelers Helps Event Raise Record Amount
HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TRV)
today announced it will increase its support of the Pancreatic Cancer
Research 18-Hole Stroll, held at the Travelers Championship. The
additional donation from Travelers will bring the event’s total to just
over $100,000 — the most it has ever generated for charity.
Now in its seventh year, the Pancreatic Cancer Research 18-Hole Stroll,
an early-morning walk at TPC River Highlands, generates funds for The
Lustgarten Foundation. Brittany Vose created this event in 2009 when she
was just 13 years old in honor of her father, John Vose. He died of
pancreatic cancer at the age of 44, when Brittany was just 5 years old.
“Brittany is an inspiration and should be congratulated for taking on
this responsibility that goes above and beyond to help find a cure for
pancreatic cancer,” said Jay Fishman, Executive Chairman of the Board
for Travelers. “This will be a record-setting year in terms of the money
generated by the Travelers Championship, and we are pleased to help
Brittany break the record for the amount of money she has raised for The
Lustgarten Foundation.”

All proceeds from the walk will support The Lustgarten Foundation, the

The Travelers Championship has generated more than $33 million for
charity since its inception in 1952.
