Travelers Institute Hosts Cybersecurity Education Event for Canadian Businesses

Cyber professionals to share insights during IBAA 2017 Convention

BANFF, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), today will host a panel discussion during the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA) 2017 Convention, kicking off a series of Canadian education activities in 2017. Facilitated by Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers, the discussion will feature cybersecurity professionals who will share insights into common threats and offer guidance to prepare for and respond to cyber incidents.

During the IBAA Convention, Woodward will introduce the Travelers Institute’s new cybersecurity guide, Empowering Canadian organizations to tackle evolving cyber threats, and will join the following panelists:

  • Michael Echols, CEO, International Association of Certified ISAOs (Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations)
  • Ben Hunter, Technology Segment Managing Director, Travelers Canada

The Travelers Institutehas held its Cyber: Prepare, Prevent, Mitigate, Restore™ symposia initiative across the United States since 2016. Additional events will be held in the United States and Canada throughout the year, including a June 13 symposium in Toronto in collaboration with the Economic Club of Canada.
